2023 Child Care Appreciation Gathering

Everyone Welcome!

Let's show the Comox Valley's outstanding Child Care Professionals how much they mean to us. Families, Early Childhood Educators, Child Care Providers, and Community Members are invited to this community gathering in celebration of those who care for our communities’ most important members, our children!

Join this relaxed event at the Comox Marina Park and enjoy connecting with community members, field games, giant bubbles, appreciation art, park play, free coffee & light refreshments, door prizes and more!

Bring your family, colleagues, grandparents, and fellow Educators along. As the event takes place over lunch time, why not bring a blanket and picnic lunch, or treat yourself to one of the on-site food trucks?

Let’s gather to show our appreciation for the Educators and Child Care Professionals; Unsung heroes in our community that provide daily love, care, learning opportunities, joy, social, emotional and physical security to our children! Authentic appreciation and celebration really do matter!

  • Draw prizes for local ECE’s and Child Care Providers (in attendance)

  • Family friendly activities: appreciation art, field games, park play, giant bubbles, and more!

Community Sponsorship Opportunities

Interested in sponsoring the 2023 Child Care Appreciation gathering event? What a great way to showing your appreciation for Comox Valley’s Child Care professionals.
We are looking for sponsorships between $250-$500 and/or in-kind donations of food, drink and door prizes (for the Educators and Child Care Professionals).

We can acknowledge your contributions by:

  • Including your logo on the event poster and on the Comox Valley Early Years Collaborative website (www.cveyc.ca),

  • 1 pre-event social media post (Facebook),

  • Verbal recognition at the May 27th event, and

  • Space for small banners/signs to be posted at the May 27th event.

Sponsorship and in-kind donations of more than $500 will be recognized accordingly (logo size, larger event banners welcome, brief verbal description of your business/service at event, etc.)

We are also looking for community volunteers to support this event. Get in touch as soon as possible so we can make the best use of your amazing skills!

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • supporting outdoor field games & giant bubbles,

  • collecting door prize entries,

  • set-up & take-down, and more!

Interested in Joining Us?

Participation in the Comox Valley Child Care Planning Committee is open to anyone with an interest in improving access to high quality, affordable, flexible and inclusive childcare in the Comox Valley.

Our committee members come from a variety of backgrounds including; child care providers, local municipal representatives, indigenous leaders, school district employees, community members, child care advocates, public health officials, training institutions, recreation service providers, chamber of commerce members, business owners, and more.

We meet on the third Wednesday bi-monthly from12:30pm-2pm. Our meetings are a place to share information, build connections, and
make plans for direct action.

We are always looking for new voices to contribute to our work.
